After a long long time
The witch was standing by the doorway watching the storm ravishing the sky.
It was the moment, she could sense it. She had been feeling it getting closer and closer everyday for the past few months, but today the signal was strong, tangible.
The rain was pouring, and the thunder was shaking the earth far away.
It was coming.
She was hypnotized by the rain, her drink in her hand, patiently waiting, as if she was watching life itself unfold, into a powerful, almost terrifying play.
She was watching something playing, but it was the inevitable forces of nature itself.
The kind of spectacle she was truly. madly, enjoying.
The lightning finally joined the dance, taking entire possession of the dark sky. The storm made every soul flee.
She was delighted. But calm mostly. The calming satisfaction of seeing your own success, after being patient and meticulous for years.
The lightning finally ended it’s run thorough the sky in her backyard, at only a few meters from the little red patio she was standing on.
The lighting vanished in a second, leaving a human form being it.
A dark soul, without a doubt.
The only thing the witch could see was the dark silhouette crowned by a very out of date and very long hat.
She smiled as she recognized the familiar chaotic energy in front of her.
She greeted it first.
-I was waiting for you.
It started making it’s way towards the entrance where she was standing, but it stopped a feet in front of her.
It looked at her, it’s eyes were red, dark and rotten. It did not react very much to the closeness of the witch. As if she was only a mere side character in the universe's story. As if she was an insect into the vast land of a human’s living room.
It was wrong. She was everything.
-You have never met me in this life. How can you recognize me? How would you be waiting for me? What do you know, that I don't witch?
His voice was a profound darkness. Like if it was coming from each and everyone’s rotten part of their own dark soul.
It felt like a caress to the witch.
He was right. She did not recognize it as such. As a person with a face. She could not name him, even less say why she new he was coming to her. She had no idea what or who was standing in front of her. But, something in her knew something she didn’t.
That she was sure of it. The little voice inside of her was yelling that it was known territory. And she could trust that voice.
-You know way much more than me.
She entered the house, but he didn’t.
-You have to invite me in.
She knew better than invite strange dark energy inside her house.
She took a look at the thing. She had been trained all her life to never pronounce the words it was asking of her. Her alarms were shouting. This thing was dark.
-Will you do good if I give you that permission?
-Of course not.
She smirked. She was, always had been, a fan of chaos.
-You can enter than.
That little voice inside of her was telling her that it was what had to be done.
The entity was darkness without a doubt. But it wasn't evil.
Evil can charm you to let them in. They can trick you and make it sound like you were safe.
But this was not the case. She knew it. She should let him in. It would be better to let him in. It was not an obligation. It was a loving suggestion coming from a knowledge way bigger that herself, without really knowing it. And for another time in her life, she would have to listen to that little voice inside of her, instead of listening to what she had been taught on this planet.
She had to do it much in her life lately. The Universe made sure she would learn it, trust it. The universe made sure to teach her to break all the rules.
She lost people she loved because of it, she had to go through hard times so she could be free, so she could listen.
The entity than proceed to move forward, stepped over the doorframe.
-You are not afraid, living here all alone?
- Loneliness is way less scary than people.
It took off it’s ugly hat, and posed it on the big iron fire place just by the side of the door.
It was lit, but the hat did not burn.
The entity was very old, very very old. It has seen pretty much everything. It was completely over this whole, the planet earth experience.
So when he arrived, and was greeted by someone, and then invited somewhere, it was surprised.
It just did not remember what this weird feeling was, since it hadn’t had it for several centuries. It was than stuck in this confusion, and the confusion of being confused.
The entity was a paradox in itself.
